2020 Wrap-Up



August

Five organizations joined together to form OHCBSC's steering committee:

  • Disability Rights Ohio

  • The Ohio Development Disabilities Council

  • The Ohio Statewide Independent Living Council

  • The Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging

  • The Ohio Association of Home Care and Hospice

September

A preliminary group of 60 advocacy organizations and individuals sent a letter to the General Assembly and Governor DeWine urging the expansion of HCBS in Ohio.


October

OHCBSC held its first full coalition meeting, with over 50 groups and individuals in attendance. The meeting took place virtually due to COVID-19.


November

OHCBSC held its second full meeting, and members began planning advocacy strategies for Ohio's upcoming budget.


December

OHCBSC held its third meeting and submitted rule comments to Medicaid advocating for increased provider reimbursement.


New year, same message. Ohioans are #BetterAtHome.
